Mouvements Modernes at Design Miami

December 2TH - December 8TH 2025

Convention Center Drive & 19TH street Miami Beach

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Design Miami and in response to the theme Make. Believe. theme proposed by Glenn Adamson, Mouvements Modernes gallery, for its second participation, will propose a reading of its heritage, with pieces !rom the famous Néotù gallery in dialogue with today’s talents. Enriched by this history, designers, artist have developed their vision and begun to design pieces that combine heritage, interpretation and contemporaneity.

Since 1984, Néotù gallery owners Gérard Dalmon and Pierre Staudenmeyer have made a major contribution to the revival of French furniture design. Running their two galleries in Paris and New York, they have to their credit over one hundred exhibitions of French and foreign designers, which have enabled them to publish eight hundred and fifty models of fumiture, objects and liting. Sixteen years of intense activity, four emblernatic figures – Garouste & Bonetti, Friedman. Sipek. Szekely – have charted an unusual course.

For Design Miami 2025, Mouvements Modernes will present iconic pieces by Garouste & Bonetti and Dan Friedman. The incredible Arc en ciel console. designed in the 90s by Garouste & Bonetti, is the very expression of a re-interpretation of the chiffonier, a farnous piece of 1 Sth-century fumiture, and its slender shape, the external scrolls of its base and the use of SaintJust glass evoke the flamboyant Gothie style.
The famous American graphie artist and designer Dan Friedman will also be in the spotlight. The famous USA tables and the Neotable bear witness to his free spirit, influenced by the American art scene of the 80s and the ltalian Memphis movement. Dan Friedman remains a pioneer in his vision of radical modernism.

Against the backdrop of the design history of the 1980s and 1990s, Mouvements Modernes is working with talented designers to create a new vocabulary of forward-looking forms. Tim Leclabart, talented designer and Rising Talent awarded by Philippe Stark in 2023. will present his famous Totem Axis. With the totem, he invokes an historie formai aestheticism with reference to Constantin Brancusi’s infinite column of 1938.

Sam Baron, Michal Fargo and Turi Heisselberg Pedersen will gave us their own vision where heritage in the craft and industrial worlds could be combined to reveal contemporary glass and ceramic sculptures. Sorne strange minerais, marine plants and flowers appears to create new objects of collection.

The gallery is pleased to present this year a collection of works by Mathias Kiss. He takes the opposite approach to references. His opposition to the codes of decorative arts does not make a clean break with the pas!, but draws on it to better subvert it and create a new aesthetic combining fantasy and poetry.

So, imbued with our history and the technical know-how of today, the artists and designers continue to bring tomorrow’s design of collection into the present.
